DIY Inspiration Board
Do you ever get the feels? I'm not talking about those nostalgic feels of your high school days when late start mornings consisted of getting Jamba Juice in your friends buggy... with her permit. I'm talking about the feels you get when you suddenly want to become a brain surgeon after an episode of Grey's Anatomy, or enroll in Quantico after every FBI movie (guilty). Well, with whatever you aspire to be, having an inspiration board can help keep you focused towards your goal. Believe it or not, that's how we started this Lifestyle site :)
Step 1: Get a cork board
Depending on the size of your inspiration board, find a cork board that fits to your desire. I like this 24 x 18 cork board from Target ($11.99) since it has frame for a more polished look. You can also get individual cork board pieces and customize your own size!
step 2: paint the border
This step is optional, but I personally like spicing up the presentation of the board as a whole. You can use any acrylic paint from Michaels to polish up the wooden borders.
step 3: customize your push pins
Ordinary push pins are kinda boring, especially if your inspiration board revolves around entertainment, fashion, design, or anything that relates to art. I dug up some stud earrings that I no longer wear and used them as push pins instead. You can also glue rhinestones to regular push pins!
step 4: be inspired
Start adding pictures, quotes, or even notes that relate to what you aspire to be or where you want to go. What I love about this DIY project is that the finished product can also double up as any room decor!
