Trendy OOTD for Fall & Winter
In California we have 4 seasons: Fall, Summer, Girl Scout Cookie month, and when day pool parties are officially opened in Vegas. Depending on your exact location in California, Fall might be more Spring-y and Summer might be more Fall-y. Winter in Los Angeles for example is when scarves are used to accessorize with the PSL you just got at Starbucks... for the Instagram pic that's going up a week from now.
Regardless of where you live, chic is always in. And what's in this "winter" is the trendy urban look. You know those girls who look absolutely amazing sitting next to that hole-in-the-wall coffee shop with her $900 French Bulldog. This look might seem expensive, but you can totally achieve this style on a budget-- minus the Bulldog.
Starting off with the basics, find a simple white graphic tee that you adore. I love tanks/t-shirts that have bold lettering like this one from Forever21 (Sale: $9.99).
Match your graphic tee with a pair of black shorts. Go for something with a looser fit rather than a tight denim feel. Forever21 has an inexpensive pair of faux suede lace edge shorts which would go perfect with this outfit! ($22.90).
To keep this outfit more on the Fall side, we are going to be layering over a marble gray cardigan. Some of you may like a more oversized look, but I find that a regular sized one will do just fine. Bloomingdale's has a similar one by Splendid for ($128).
Because this outfit has a lot of dark colors, we are going to brighten up the look with a mini white crossbody. The exact one is actually from Forever21 (Sale: $16.99). Unlike a lot of other mini crossbodies, this one is surprisingly big enough for all your essentials.
What makes this look urban and chic is definitely the hat. Get any wide black fedora and wrap a yellow sunflower daisy headband around the top. Headbands can get annoying with the band being too tight or it messing up your hair. This is an easy technique to get that style- minus the problems. Etsy has a similar headband for ($7.98) while Forever21 has a dupe fedora for (Sale: $13.99)
Complete this look with your favorite pair of black booties. The lace up style gives the overall outfit a more hipster vibe. If you want a more polished look, I would go with plain black booties, but with a similar thick heel. These chunky lace up booties from Charlotte Russe are on a pretty good deal right now if you are trying to replicate the entire outfit (Sale: $25.99)
